New in Wild Atlas: A Free Coloring Book for Every Pack

TL;DR

v1.0.5 is a free update. The headline: every pack now comes with its own 20-page printable coloring book — a cover, one page for every animal, facts in the app's own voice. Also in this release: packs update themselves in the background, a new opt-in toggle for anonymous usage statistics, and a newsletter.

New in the app: Printables

It's called Printables, a new section in Wild Atlas — a printable coloring book for every pack you own. Not clip art: each page starts from the same animal reference the app itself uses, redrawn as line art in a real habitat — a hedgehog in front of a garden wall, not floating on nothing. Three fact bubbles sit around the edge, in the same voice the app narrates in: "Hedgehogs snuffle and snort as they hunt for food at night."

The hedgehog page — real anatomy, a real backdrop, three facts in the app's own voice.

Every pack gets a 20-page book like this one: a cover, one page for every animal in the pack, and a closing note. Cozy Critters is one of Wild Atlas's three free packs, so its book is the one you can grab right now — eighteen animals, A4, no purchase, no account, print it at home or take it to a copy shop. Every page carries a QR code to our newsletter, if you'd rather scan than type.

Here's how to find it: from the Home screen, tap About — it's behind the parental gate — then open Printables. Right below Printables in that same section is a new card for the Wild Atlas Blog, this post included.

Three steps to find Printables in Wild Atlas: the Home screen with the About button circled, the About section showing the Printables card, and the Printables list of downloadable coloring books
Home → About (behind the parental gate) → Printables. Pick a book and download it.

Also in 1.0.5

  • Packs update themselves. New content for a pack you own downloads in the background over Wi-Fi, so you're not stuck waiting on a manual refresh before your kid can play. It happens on its own the next time you open the app on a good connection.
  • Onboarding is a straight line. The first-run setup where your child picks a name and an explorer avatar is now a proper step-by-step flow, one thing at a time. Consent is a real, explicit step in that flow too, with no way to decline it by accident.
  • Redeem a gift code, and know where. If someone sends you a code for a pack, the Explorer Pass reveal screen in the Shop now tells you exactly where to redeem it, instead of leaving you to go find the right screen yourself.
  • A blog, right there in the app. The About section now has a card for the Wild Atlas Blog — release notes, features, and notes on animals and child development as our catalogue of posts grows. It opens in your browser, behind the parental gate. This post is one tap away from inside the app.
  • Wild Atlas has a newsletter. Subscribe to stay ahead of what we're adding — new packs and app features. Sign up and we'll send a promo code for the Farm Friends pack, yours to redeem even if you unsubscribe later. The first issue is coming shortly: updates, new content, and links to blog posts like this one, plus a free printable coloring book with animals from the app and fun facts for the kids in every issue. wildatlasapp.com/newsletter
  • Anonymous usage statistics. A new toggle in the Grown-ups area of Settings, behind the parental gate — off unless a grown-up turns it on. What it shares, in the app's own words: anonymous counts to Wild Atlas's own servers, things like which packs were opened or whether a download or the audio failed. No names, no identifiers, never third parties. We'd genuinely appreciate you turning it on: without it we can't see which packs are actually getting opened or when something breaks for a family — we're flying blind. It doesn't do anything for your child either way; it just helps us build the next version better.
